Dr. Choca’s Veterinary Journey

Dr. Liz Becker Choca graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2011. Her path to veterinary medicine began with a deep affection for pets and a fascination with the logical process of diagnosis: understanding what is wrong and finding ways to help animals feel better. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and is currently working toward her Fear Free certification.

Dr. Choca’s Career & Experience at Sploot

As Regional Medical Director for Sploot Veterinary Care in Chicago, Dr. Becker Choca has special interests in radiology and neurology. Her favorite part of working at Sploot is the team and culture. She states the following about her experience working at Sploot: 

"I have really loved expanding into administrative work and supporting the other doctors working at Sploot. I love that I am able to balance clinical work, which I am passionate about, with growth opportunities for other doctors."

As a Sploot client herself, Dr. Choca values the preventive care and ongoing monitoring at Sploot, which help her keep track of her fur baby’s changing health needs as he ages.

Outside of Work

Outside of work, Dr. Becker Choca is a devoted mother and a dedicated pet parent as well. She also enjoys working out, soccer, jiu-jitsu, floor hockey, and racquetball, along with reading, writing, traveling, and enjoying delicious food. She fondly describes her senior dog, Mishka, as an affectionate couch potato that loves cuddles.
