Dr. Berns’ Career & Experience at Sploot

As an Associate Veterinarian at Sploot Veterinary Care - Denver, Dr. Berns has special interests in preventive medicine and general practice, urgent care, dentistry, and dermatology. Her favorite thing about working at Sploot is the team and culture. She sees that culture in a staff that is kind, empathetic, knowledgeable, and full of love for pets, which she counts among the things that make Sploot stand out in Denver.

Since joining Sploot, Dr. Berns has grown into management roles, sharing the following about her career: “Sploot helped me grow into management positions: coaching, mentoring and training other new DVM's. The network of DVMs helps encourage growth at all times; you are always learning in this field and it is so nice to have a network of vets to learn from.”

Dr. Berns is also a Sploot client, and she loves knowing she has a team she trusts in case something comes up. She shared that Sploot has helped with her own fur family’s veterinary needs, including dental care, treatment for occasional GI upset, and more.

Outside of Work

During her free time, Dr. Berns loves traveling the world, spending time with friends and family, hiking, reading, trying new restaurants, and listening, singing, and dancing to music. She is a dedicated pet parent to two dogs, Lizzy and Ralph. Lizzy, a 13-year-old Collie and Golden mix, came from the shelter as her veterinary class’s first spay. Dr. Berns fell in love and couldn’t let her go back. Meanwhile, Ralph, an almost 8-year-old Rottweiler and Shepherd mix, is scared of his own shadow but has the sweetest and most lovable personality.
