Dr. Mattison Newman

Dr. Newman’s Veterinary Journey

Dr. Mattison Newman graduated from North Carolina State University in 2022 and is a Fear Free certified veterinarian. She has wanted to become a veterinarian for as long as she can remember, and that ambition grew stronger as she cared for a wide variety of pets. Growing up with dogs, cats, fish, a guinea pig, a bearded dragon, gerbils, rabbits, and turtles deepened her love of animals and reinforced her decision to pursue veterinary medicine.

Dr. Newman’s Career & Experience at Sploot

As an Associate Veterinarian at Sploot Veterinary Care in Denver, Dr. Newman has special interests in dentistry and preventive care. Her favorite part of working at Sploot is the team and culture. After working in an emergency veterinary setting, she joined Sploot, where she appreciates being able to follow her patients’ progress while continuing to use her urgent care skills. Working with experienced mentors has also helped her advance her surgical knowledge and abilities.

Outside of Work

Outside of work, Dr. Newman enjoys traveling, attending concerts, shows, and music festivals, hiking, skiing, and spending time with friends. She is a devoted pet parent to Penny Lane, a 1-year-old miniature long-haired Dachshund whose sweet personality and clever antics make her laugh every day. Already an enthusiastic travel companion, Penny Lane has accompanied her to five states and another country.

As a Sploot client herself, Dr. Newman states the following about how her beloved furry companion received top-tier care at Sploot: “I had my Penny Lane spayed by [Sploot veterinarian] Dr. Casali! She did great, and I was comfortable knowing Penny was in good hands with an amazing doctor and great nurse team.”
