Dr. Nicholls’ Veterinary Journey
Dr. Pam Nicholls graduated from Colorado State University in 2013. Her passion for veterinary medicine began as early as kindergarten and continued growing throughout her childhood in Wyoming. Through participation in the 4-H program, riding and showing horses, and caring for a variety of animals, she developed extensive early experience with animal care. At just 14 years old, she began working at a veterinary clinic, setting the foundation for a lifelong career dedicated to animal health and well-being.
Dr. Nicholls’ Career & Experience at Sploot
As a Clinic Medical Director at Sploot Veterinary Care in Denver, Dr. Nicholls has special interests in soft tissue surgery, laparoscopy, endoscopy, preventive care, and internal medicine. She appreciates Sploot's all-in-one approach to veterinary medicine, extended hours, and availability 365 days a year, which help pet parents access comprehensive care when they need it. Her favorite part of working at Sploot is the supportive team and culture. Since joining the practice, Dr. Nicholls has completed additional training in laparoscopy and endoscopy while broadening her experience in urgent care medicine. Sploot has also supported her career advancement from an associate veterinarian position into clinic medical leadership. As a Sploot client herself, she values having access to skilled veterinary professionals, modern facilities, and medical equipment to support her own pets' health.
Outside of Work
Outside the clinic, Dr. Nicholls enjoys hiking, camping, reading, traveling, gardening, and baking. She is also a devoted pet parent to five animals: three dogs named Ernie, Sage, and Porter, and two cats named Twiggy and Juniper. Ernie, her 15-year-old Chihuahua mix, holds a particularly special place in her heart, as the first pet she welcomed into her life after becoming a veterinarian. He remains her "best good boy" among her cherished fur babies.
